CALIFORNIA HIGH SCHOOL RODEO ASSOCIATION

DISTRICT 8 MERIT SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

2024-2025

 

Dear District 8 Senior Applicant,

 

Congratulations on your success with the sport of rodeo and on your graduation from High School. This is the application overview for the District 8 Merit Scholarship.  Scholarships will be awarded based on your district involvement, accomplishments, academics, future goals and involvement in community service.

 

Please turn in your completed application by email or postal mail by April 12, 2025.  A completed application must have the following:

• Completed questionnaire do not leave any blanks, if no answer, state, ‘none’ – either typed or handwritten are acceptable

• A sealed High School Transcript (can be mailed to me or hand delivered to one of the scholarship committee members at one of the next rodeos)

• Two letters of reference from a teacher or counselor at your school

• A 500 word or less essay describing what this scholarship will mean to you and how it will affect your plans & future. *This needs to be genuine, not AI generated. I am a teacher and can verify the authenticity of your essay*

• If applications are not turned in at the rodeo, they must be turned in to Jenifer Finch by April 12th. Please mail all applications to 9797 Lewis Lane Apple Valley, Ca. 92308 or email them to ropingmom3@gmail.com No applications will be accepted late. 

• All applicants will be required to attend a short interview via Zoom during the week of April 14th-18th. Various times will be available and you will be notified after applications are submitted.

***An incomplete application will be not be reviewed. 

Winners will be announced at the District 8 banquet on April 27, 2025***
