At each District 8 Rodeo, points are awarded to the top ten in each go-round and the average winners. Cash payouts are awarded to the average winners in each event, the amount of payout is depending upon number of enters.
After our February rodeo, the top 3 in yearend points in each event is eligible for Challenge of Champions. This is an Invitational state rodeo competition by CHSRA. Entry information will be given to those who qualify after District 8's February rodeo. Contestants in this rodeo do not receive points for the district totals. Competing in this rodeo is for weekend awards only.
Our Yearend Banquet is immediately following (usually Sunday afternoon) our May District Finals, yearend awards will be given out to the top placings. The number of placings is dependent upon the number of contestants in each event. One award placing for every four contestants in each event. All Around saddles will be awarded to the top All Around Cowgirl and Cowboy. Also, All Around Rookie (first year contestants) Cowgirl and Cowboy will be awarded. One Senior Cowgirl and Cowboy will be awarded a Merit Scholarship in the amount of $500.
All Stars. Each yearend event winner is a member of the All Stars. Winners receive a scholarship award from the District.
Also, after our May District Finals, the top 5 in yearend points in each event is eligible for CHSRA State Finals in June. Eligible State qualifiers will have a meeting immediately following the rodeo. At this meeting, entry information will be given out and state photos will be taken. Parents will need to be available to sign forms. Please be prepared for state entries.
After our CHSRA State Finals Rodeo in June, the top 4 in each event is eligible for NHSRA National Finals Rodeo in July. Eligible National qualifiers will have a meeting immediately following the State Finals awards. National entries will be taken at this meeting. Both parents will need to be available to sign.
After our CHSRA State Finals Rodeo in June, those who placed 5th thru 10th are eligible for Silver State International Rodeo. Entries and information will not be provided, information is be available online at www.ssir.us
