Contestant's Responsibilities:
  • Check-in at the Rodeo from 7:15am to 8am.
  • Be in dress code for check-in, competition and work crew.
  • Bring your membership card with you to check-in.
  • If you are late for check-in due to a breakdown or emergency, please call the Rodeo Secretary, Jo Ellen Seick at 909-253-3482 and provide the necessary information or you will be turned out.  You can also call a friend and have them go to the Rodeo Secretary with the phone.
  • Be ready and on-time to compete for your events.  You will only be given 3 calls and then turned out.  Know when you are up, when your event is and be ready at the gate.

Barrel Racers and Polebenders - remember you must get your horse in the arena within 2 minutes of being called for the event.  If you need help getting in the gate, have a plan, get a friend (Must be an Associate Member) or other contestant to help you get thru the gate, don't get turned out.

Goat Tiers- We tie downs the goats at 7:30am before every rodeo.  If you would like to tie down the goats, be at the ___________'s trailer by 7:30am.  Please contact ___________________ if you have any questions.

Humane Treatment - Be nice to your animals and treat them with respect.  Rough or other excessive treatment cannot be used at the rodeo.  You may be disqualified for excessive treatment.  All training should be done prior to the rodeo and not at the rodeo.

Ground Rule Meeting - Every rodeo has a ground rules meeting to go over urgent information or specific instructions about that rodeo.

Back Numbers - Each contestant will be given a back number at the first rodeo, this is your number for the year.  Replacement  back numbers will cost you $10.  Some contestant's laminate their number for better wear for the year.

Work Crew - Each contestant has a work crew at each rodeo.  Failure to work your work crew will result in major consequences.  (could have serious results, include loss of points)    If you are in a work crew just prior to your event, let both event directors know (the director of your work crew event & the director of the event you are up in) that you will be there as soon as you are done with your work crew or need to leave early for an event.

Grand Entry - Each contestant is expected to ride in the Grand Entry and some will be asked to carry a flag.

Parent/Family Responsibilities:

  • Help! we always need help.  Some specific needs we have are; working (opening) the gate at the entry or exit of the arena, timers in the booth (we need three timers at each rodeo, the more timers we have in the lineup the better and less strain on the few that alway do the job), calling names to help line up the contestants at the gate (the rodeo runs smoother if the contestants are lined up and ready).
  • Parent or other family members must be an CHSRA Associate member to be in the arena.  Associate members must be at least 12 years or older.  See the Rodeo Secretary at check-in to become an associate member.  There is a $10 fee for associate members.
  • Helpers be in dress code in the arena, at your family work crew as your contestant can be penalized if you do not comply with the dress code rule.
  • Complete your family work crew duties (at least two rodeo's and one fundraiser).
